This is the best time of the year for every NFL arm-chair general manager across the globe… the NFL Draft. After spending a couple of years in Chicago, the draft moves to Philadelphia, PA and Eagles fans have to be excited to get a front row view of who general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Doug Pederson select to be the newest members of “Gang Green.”
As with most drafts, there are plenty of known and unknown variables. The one thing that we do know is that the Browns will probably select Myles Garrett with the No. 1 pick, but shortly after his name is called is where things should become real interesting. Who will be the first quarterback selected? Which team will make the biggest reach and who will it be for? Which player will have the biggest slide? How many trades will there be (Sports Q&A says at least three in the first round)
As we have done before Quinne and Al decided to give their own opinions on where these teams will go in the first round. How many correct selections will these guys have and will they finish with a higher percentage of correct answers than the “experts?”
(predictions as of 4/26/2017)
Team Needs: Playmakers, QB, DB
QUINNE: Another year, another high selection for the Browns but this should be an easy one as they select the best prospect in this year’s draft, Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
ALLAN: The Browns have a ton of holes, but there is no QB worth the top pick and it could be tempting to make a trade for the right price. While they entertain offers from other teams, they realize how foolish it would be to pass up talent. Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
LOUIS RIDDICK: Jamal Adams, S, LSU
WALTER FOOTBALL: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
2. San Francisco 49ers
Team Needs: QB, OLB, DE
QUINNE: This is where things get interesting. Like the Browns, San Fran has a lot of holes but they look to build a solid defensive front with the selection of Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford.
ALLAN: The 49ersnate in complete rebuild from top to bottom, so any pick they have will assist in the 3-5 years it’ll take for a complete resurgence. New GM John Lynch will put a stamp on this draft early by making a statement and drafting in his own image, Jamal Adams, SS, LSU
LOUIS RIDDICK: Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
WALTER FOOTBALL: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Jamal Adams, S, LSU
Team Needs: DB, OLB, DL
QUINNE: No more Jay Cutler but that still doesn’t mean the Bears are talented enough to contend in the NFC North. They add another defensive piece to a defense that was ranked in the Top 10. Malik Hooker, S, Ohio St.
ALLAN: The Bears have given the keys to Mike Glennon and need to ensure they don’t remain in the basement of the NFC North. It’s been a few years since the face of the franchise has been an LB, all that will change as they ignore the negative reports and jump up to take the best LB, Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama
LOUIS RIDDICK: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
WALTER FOOTBALL: Malik Hooker, S, Ohio St
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio St.
Team Needs: TE, RB, OL
QUINNE: The Jags were supposed to take the next step last season after picking up some known free agents and having a great draft… but it didn’t happen. Maybe they get it right this year? The Jag take a step in the right direction by getting some help for beleaguered quarterback Blake Bortles in running back Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU.
ALLAN: I was on the bandwagon of the Jags last year and was disappointed like most, but having the ability to upgrade to a talented roster with an instant playmaker will benefit the budding AFC South contenders. Blake Bortles will have a new best friend in, O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
LOUIS RIDDICK: Malik Hooker, S, Ohio St.
WALTER FOOTBALL: Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama
TODD MCSHAY: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
5. Tennessee Titans
Team Needs: CB, WR, LB
QUINNE: The Titans surprised a lot of people last season and look to take that next step in being a legit contender in the AFC South. They get the top-rated corner in the draft in Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio St.
ALLAN: As a surprise team last year the Titans are looking to solidify themselves as contenders and there is no better way to do that than to solidify the defensive backfield by drafting, Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State.
LOUIS RIDDICK: Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU
WALTER FOOTBALL: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
Team Needs: QB, CB, OLB
QUINNE: The Jets could go a number of ways with this selection, and while quarterback is tempting, the brass in New York look to solidify the defense and takes Jamal Adams, SS, LSU
ALLAN: The Jets are still trying to put a stamp on Todd Bowles tenure as head coach. Picking a quarterback this high would be too risky, but drafting a defensive contributor won’t be as they take, Jonathan Allen, DT, Alabama
LOUIS RIDDICK: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio St.
WALTER FOOTBALL: Jamal Adams, SS, LSU
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): OJ Howard, TE, Alabama
7. Los Angeles Chargers
Team needs: WR, DE, OL
QUINNE: There are some concerns over his shoulders, but the Chargers are excited to pair Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama with last year’s defensive rookie of the year Joey Bosa to form a nice tandem up front.
ALLAN: With the top two players at a dire position of need off the board the Chargers just to make their selection Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
LOUIS RIDDICK: Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama
WALTER FOOTBALL: Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Malik Hooker, S, Ohio St.
8. Carolina Panthers
Team Needs: DE, OT, RB
QUINNE: Everyone thinks that the Panthers should take a running back, but it’s a deep group and there is more value at defensive end this high. Carolina finds some help in Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee.
ALLAN: The Panthers drafting good fortune will continue as they fill a great need with the best at his position and select Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
LOUIS RIDDICK: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
WALTER FOOTBALL: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
9. Cincinnati Bengals
Team Needs: OL, LB, Pass Rusher
QUINNE: Is the window of opportunity closing in Cincinnati? If you think it is, that means the Bengals have to find someone that can help instantly and with uncertainty at the position, the Bengals leap and take Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford.
ALLAN: The Bengals are looking to turn the corner and advance deep in the playoffs but the only way to do that is through the defense. It’s not a perfect fit, but he will definitely create some much-needed pressure on opposing QBs as they take Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee.
LOUIS RIDDICK: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri
WALTER FOOTBALL: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
10. Buffalo Bills

Team Needs: DB, WR, OT
QUINNE: The Bills are on their seventh coach since 2006 so the organization is looking for stability there while trying to find enough pieces in this draft to improve the team on the field. OJ Howard, TE, Alabama will help.
ALLAN: The Bills need playmakers on both sides of the ballot match the young talent they have. They will make the choice to help Tyrod Taylor by drafting Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
LOUIS RIDDICK: Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
WALTER FOOTBALL: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio St.
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Haason Reddick, LB, Temple
Team Needs: DE, DB, RB
QUINNE: The New Orleans defense has been the root of the team’s issues over the past two seasons and despite investing more money and draft picks on that side of the ball, Sean Peyton dips back into the defensive pot again to select Charles Harris DE, Missouri.
ALLAN: The potential signing of AP has changed the drafting priorities for the Saints. With one of the worst passing defenses in the league, the Saints choice will potentially be the beginning of the No Fly Zone in the bIg Easy, Malik Hooker, FS, Ohio State
LOUIS RIDDICK: Haason Reddick, LB, Temple
WALTER FOOTBALL: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Marlon Humphry, CB, Alabama
Team Needs: QB, WR, OLB
QUINNE: The Browns get the quarterback that they like in Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina, the bigger question is will they have to jump ahead of the Jets to get him?
ALLAN: It’s a much safer spot to draft the new face of the franchise at 12 than at #1 and the Cleveland pulls the trigger on a quarterback they are in “like” with Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
LOUIS RIDDICK: Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
WALTER FOOTBALL: Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
Team Needs: Pass Rusher, ILB, QB
QUINNE: Arizona wants to prove that last season was an anomaly and not a sign of a downward turn for the organization. Larry Fitzgerald is an ageless wonder but the team needs someone to become a legit No. 2 receiver — that could eventually develop into the go-to guy — they find that in Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan.
ALLAN: As Carson Palmer is in the sunset of his career this could be the spot where the Cardinals take a sexy pick and groom his successor. Fans and management feel that this current team has one last push, so they select a playmaker in Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
LOUIS RIDDICK: OJ Howard, TE, Alabama
WALTER FOOTBALL: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
14. Philadelphia Eagles

Team Needs: RB, CB, OL
QUINNE: The Eagles need help in the defensive backfield and get a guy that some say has a higher ceiling than his teammate. Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio St.
ALLAN: Philly Nation will be disowning them if they don’t right the ship soon. With the top two guys gone and really needing a difference maker they jump for Dalvin Cook, RB, FSU
LOUIS RIDDICK: Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida St.
WALTER FOOTBALL: OJ Howard, TE, Alabama
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
Team Needs: ILB, RB, OL
QUINNE: The Colts have enough pieces offensively and look to solidify the other side of the ball with the selection of Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama.
ALLAN: Sitting in the No. 15 spot has been brutal for the Colts as a number of prospects have gone by, but they will kill two birds with one stone with their pick; protect Andrew Luck and create holes for the backs with Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
MIKE MAYOCK: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
WALTER FOOTBALL: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Charles Harris, DE, Missouri
16. Baltimore Ravens

Team Needs: OL, Rush end, WR
QUINNE: Will the Ravens select another first round offensive lineman… quite possible but Baltimore made its mark on the defensive side of the ball. They add some help there with the pick of Takkarist McKinley, OLB, UCLA
ALLAN: The Ravens have several needs high on the depth chart especially on the defensive side. The select a tackling machine in Haason Reddick, OLB, Temple
LOUIS RIDDICK: Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
WALTER FOOTBALL: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
Team Needs: DT, CB, LB
QUINNE: The Redskins are known for throwing curveballs and I see one here as they select David Njoku, TE, Miami. Jordan Reed is talented but has only played in 46 of 64 games over the last four seasons. The team needs more stability from the position and get it with Njoku.
ALLAN: Only non-Washington fans questions the decisions they make because fans know it’s usually unpredictable. Again the world is surprised as they select Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
LOUIS RIDDICK: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
WALTER FOOTBALL: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio St.
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama
Team Needs: CB, TE, WR
QUINNE: Originally thought to be the pick with their fifth selection, the Titans are ecstatic to be able to select Mike Williams, WR, Clemson 13 picks later. He gives them a more complete big-play-target for Marcus Mariotta.
ALLAN: Looks like the Titans are living right as they have two draft picks that will become the best friend of Marcus Mariotta in picking Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
LOUIS RIDDICK: Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
WALTER FOOTBALL: Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
NEEDS: DE, RB, OT
QUINNE: Even with the return of Doug Martin, the Bucs are looking for more stability at the position and dip back into the FSU connection to select Dalvin Cook, RB, FSU.
ALLAN: Tampa has all the makings of being one of the rising 2nd tier teams and creating matchup nightmares is paramount. The Bucs go with a disruptive player with his pick jumping to nab Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State
LOUIS RIDDICK: Evan Engram, TE, Ole Miss
WALTER FOOTBALL: Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida St.
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida St.
Team Needs: OT, ILB, OG
QUINNE: The Broncos need to do a better job of protecting the quarterback and get some help with the selection of Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama. Some may be surprised to see him this fall but its more about how the draft board lined up and not his overall skillset.
ALLAN: The Broncos need to make a selection that will fill the holes that occur as an aggressive team gets older. Solidifying the line is a must and they believe Garrett Bolles, OT, Utah is that guy.
LOUIS RIDDICK: Garrett Bolles, OT, Utah
WALTER FOOTBALL: Haason Reddick, LB, Temple
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
Team Needs: LB, DE, DT
QUINNE: Detroit picked up some nice pieces in free agency, but still need to address some holes. They start that process with the selection of Haason Reddick, LB, Temple. Originally seen as a mid-round pick, a great combine shot Reddick up the draft board and gives the Lions a guy that can cover in space but also be a force with the run game.
ALLAN: The major needs on the Lions team in up the middle defensively and this choice is simple as they choose versatile Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida to become the general of their defense.
LOUIS RIDDICK: Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida
WALTER FOOTBALL: TJ Watt, LB, Wisconsin
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida
Team Needs: DE, CB, G
QUINNE: The Dolphins continue to bolster its offensive line with the selection of Forrest Lamp, G, Western Kentucky.
ALLAN: The Fins are looking to strengthen their defensive and will choose Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State.
LOUIS RIDDICK: Zach Cunningham, LB, Vanderbilt
WALTER FOOTBALL: Jared Davis, ILB, Florida
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Forrest Lamp, G, Western Kentucky
Team Needs: OT, DE, RB
QUINNE: Current left tackle Ereck Flowers has struggled to adjust to the speed and strength of the NFL and if the G-Men want to keep Eli upright, they need someone else in at left tackle. Garrett Bolles, OT, Utah fits the bill.
ALLAN: A gift Has been bestowed to Eli Manning and the G-Men as they pick up a tumbling Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
LOUIS RIDDICK: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
WALTER FOOTBALL: Garrett Bolles, OT, Utah
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK) David Njoku, TE, Miami
Team Needs: Pass Rusher, OLB, CB
QUINNE: This pick is vintage Raiders…They have higher needs on their draft board but it will be hard to say no to the fastest man in this draft class John Ross, WR, Washington. Selecting the speedster gives this soon-to-be Vegas team a nice trio of receivers for quarterback Derek Carr.
ALLAN: The Raiders seem to be all set on offense especially with Beast Mode slated to rock the Solver and Black. This pick seems to have aligned with the stars touching on a combination of all defensive needs drafting Jabrill Peppers, SS, Michigan
LOUIS RIDDICK: Kevin King, CB, Washington
WALTER FOOTBALL: Kevin King, CB, Washington
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio St.
Team Needs: WR, TE, S
QUINNE: The Texans need a quarterback but is this the spot that they draft their next future signal caller? I think so and surprisingly they will take Pat Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech over a more decorated signal-caller from Clemson because they like Mahomes’ deep passing ability more.
ALLAN: The talented, but controversial Davis Njoku, TE, Miami will be a multipurpose weapon that will allow the Texans to have a more balanced offense.
LOUIS RIDDICK: Pat Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
WALTER FOOTBALL: Pat Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
26 Seattle Seahawks
Team Needs: OT, DE, CB
QUINNE: The Seahawks realize that their relationship with loud-mouth cornerback Richard Sherman is coming to an end and look to find his replacement as soon as possible. Kevin King, CB, Washington is 6’3 200lbs and fits the mold of a big corner that Seattle likes.
ALLAN: The potential draft day trade of Richard Sherman may change the needs of Seattle or add picks, but in this spot today the will select the rangy Kevin King, CB, Washington
LOUIS RIDDICK: Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky
WALTER FOOTBALL: Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Garrett Bolles, OT, Utah
Team Needs:
QUINNE: The Chiefs look to the future and find the guy to lead the team over the next 5-10 years in Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson. He may have some warts — deep ball inaccuracy and a high interception count — but when the lights come on, he gets the job done.
ALLAN: The Chiefs are in good position to finally draft the replacement for Alex Smith and they pull the trigger by drafting Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
LOUIS RIDDICK: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
WALTER FOOTBALL: Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
Team Needs: RB, DB, DL
QUINNE: The Cowboys seemed to have found some stability on the offensive side with last years draft… time to get the defense right this year. Already thin at defensive back, dem Boyz lost a few in free agency and the selection of Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut eases the angst of the fan base.
ALLAN: Sketchy defensive picks over the past few years have created a deficit for the Cowboys on the defensive front. They address the dire need by selecting Charles Harris, DE, Missouri.
LOUIS RIDDICK: Jordan Willis, DE, Kansas St.
WALTER FOOTBALL: Adoree Jackson, CB, USC
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Adoree Jackson, CB, USC
Team Needs: CB, ILB, NT
QUINNE: The Packers were exposed last season when a couple of their corners went down with injuries, they add some depth with the selection of Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama. Yes, he struggles to cover the deep ball but the Green Bay still should be fine.
ALLAN: The offense is rarely a concern in Green Bay, even with a downgrade at Offensive line. The defense is the reason it has been so long since the Pack have won a Super Bowl and they get much-needed help picking up Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado
MIKE MAYOCK: Adoree Jackson, CB, USC
WALTER FOOTBALL: Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): TJ Watt, LB, Wisconsin
30. Pittsburgh Steelers
Team Needs: CB, S, OLB
QUINNE: The Steelers were exposed by the Patriots passing game in the AFC Championship and they look to find some help in a versatile player who can play a multitude of positions. Despite the diluted urine sample, Jabrill Peppers, S, Michigan still ends up in the first round.
ALLAN: The Steelers need to take advantage the window they still have with Big Ben at the helm. The hope to strike gold by drafting TJ Watt, OLB, Wisconsin
Louis Riddick: Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston
WALTER FOOTBALL: DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Evan Engram, TE, Ole Miss
Team Needs: OLB, DE, S
QUINNE: Even with Vic Beasley having a great season, the Falcons still need some help up front. Many times fans think the pass rush only comes from the ends but by selecting Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan St., Atlanta gets a guy that can generate pressure up the middle, if he stays motivated.
ALLAN: At this point of the draft it may come down to picking the “best player available” and creating a surplus is a luxury most teams can’t afford, but the Falcons can do selecting speedy John Ross, WR, Washington
LOUIS RIDDICK: DeMarcus Walker, DE, Florida St.
WALTER FOOTBALL: Jordan Willis, DE, Kansas St.
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Kevin King, CB, Washington
32. New Orleans Saints
Team Needs: OLB, DE, S
QUINNE: It looks like the trade to acquire cornerback Malcolm Butler from New England is dead, but that doesn’t remove the need for help in the defensive backfield. By drafting Adoree Jackson, CB, USC not only do you get a guy that can cover in the slot, you have an excellent return guy and someone you could create an offensive package if you want versatility.
ALLAN: As expressive as the Saints offense is their defense is equally disappointing, so it’s no surprise they select Zach Cunningham, OLB, Vanderbilt to close out the 1st round.
LOUIS RIDDICK: John Ross, WR, Washington
WALTER FOOTBALL: Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU
DANIEL JEREMIAH (NFL NETWORK): Takkarist McKinley, DE, UCLA
